With his signature heavy basses and noisy guitars, the French born artist Olympic Nightingale comes back with a new album, 6 months after his previous release.

At the intersection of noise, industrial and shoegaze, "Liminal Zone" is a balance of powerful rhythmics and echoey voices, very distorted guitars and catchy electronic melodies. In turn, harsh and elegiac, danceable and hammering, but always full of melodies,
the album reflects the different states of mind that one can experience within a week due to the constant overload of information and the tension of daily life, the relaxing and partying of weekend nights, the hangover of a Sunday morning or the partial recovery and serenity that comes after a good night of sleep.

Olympic Nightingale is a completely independent and self taught artist. Not very fond of communication and not comfortable with the idea of self promotion, his music has always stayed very confidential.
For the past 20 years he has made music very much on his own, refining his composition and production approach. Beginning with a very raw and straight in your face sound, based on distorded field recordings as lo-fi as one can get, his recent outputs, although still being quite noisy and uncompromising, are now emdebbed with studio effects that enrich the tracks and enhance the different layers in which the listener is immersed.

Even if one can spot obvious elements of noise, industrial, electronic, or even dub, the sound of Olympic Nightingale is very personal and not easily categorized. This might be due to the fact that for 22 years, the man behind Olympic Nightingale has lived in many different countries, going from India to Poland, passing by Thailand and Russia, where he currently lives. It is not clear how the different cultures of these countries influence the sound of Olympic Nightingale, but it is tempting to imagine that it explains the fragmented and unorthodox nature of the compositions. That somehow, the noisy and chaotic streets of Delhi, the never ending traffic jams of Bangkok, the long and cold winters of Moscow, to name just a few examples, find their way in the psyche of Olympic Nightingale and participates at the organised chaos full of distorded sounds that constitutes most of its tracks.
